Seoraksan in Korea

Seoraksan is the highest mountain in the Taebaek Mountain Range in Gangwon Province, South Korea. It is the third highest mountain in South Korea, after the Hallasan and the Jirisan.

I visited there last summer for the first time with my family, and I was so stunned by its enormity and beauty.

The huge mountain was covered by lots of big and green trees and the air aroung the mountain was so fresh. Next to the continuous green line with trees, the long and clear stream flows down all the way from the top to the bottom of the mountain.

As a person living in a big city, I felt so free and refreshed out of a crowded and polluted place.

Playing in the cool mountain stream was also so much fun.

On the bottom of the mountain, there was a restaurant selling Korean style pizzas -Boo-chim-gae and Pa-jun - and Bibimbab(rice with different kinds of wild herbs) and all of them were so delicious.

I really loved Seoraksan because it was the place that satisfied my tastes and eyes.

New Orleans, Louisiana

I went to New Orleans to join Habitat for Humanity program for May program of my school last year(May, 2009).

I did know much about New Orleans or have interest in itself as a place to tour because my goal of the trip was just helping building a house for people who lost their houses by hurricane Katrina.

Yes, the only thing I knew about New Orleans was that it was the area where hurricane Katrina hit the most in 2007 and destroyed almost everything.

Even though it was two years after the hurricane when I visited NO, I could still many places to be restored. However, New Orleans was a beautiful place with lots of things to enjoy. For example, French Quarter, located in NO, has a lot of shopping places in beautiful but unique buildings and you can swamp tour on a boat and can actually experience the ecosystem of New Orleans very closely. Also, Craw fish is a specialty of the region which everyone should try if he/she visits there. Visiting a jazz cafe at night also allows tourists to experience the real Jazz started from New Orleans.

I had a meaningful time in New Orleans as builing a house for people in need, but I also had a fantastic time there as touring the city. I really hope to visit there with my family again.
